The Weaker Sex
Has the once perceived weaker sex
Gone too far with her demands
For equality before the law?
Have the women, vociferous for women’s rights,
Spoiled it for women who once wore with ease
The cloak (facade) of simple-mindedness?
Once, according to the encyclopaedia,
Women were thought to be brainless before the law;
If married, the husband was responsible for their crimes,
For he would have to be the coercer -
The mastermind of the crime.
Therefore, if a woman killed her husband,
She would have to be innocent before the law;
For he, her husband, would have been alive
At the time of his murder,
Thus responsible for his own demise.
So, has the weaker sex, with its demands before the law,
Removed the gender’s protective coating?
